The International League T20 (ILT20) is all set for a landmark moment in its short but impactful history, as the league will stage its first-ever Player Auction on Wednesday, 1 October 2025 at the Four Seasons Hotel, Jumeirah Beach, Dubai.
All six franchises will assemble in Dubai to complete their squads for the upcoming season, following their retention picks announced in July.
Auction Purse and Rules
Each franchise will have a purse of USD 800,000 to spend at the auction, in addition to any unutilized amount from the USD 1.2 million originally available for direct signings and retentions.
-
By the end of the auction, teams must have spent a minimum of USD 1.5M and a maximum of USD 2M.
-
Franchises may also opt to sign up to two Wildcard players outside the auction, with an additional spend of USD 250,000.
Squad Composition
Franchises will need to build squads of 19–21 players (excluding Wildcards). Within this, the following criteria are mandatory:
-
11 players from ICC Full Member countries
-
4 players from the UAE
-
1 player each from Kuwait and Saudi Arabia
-
2 players from other ICC Associate nations
Player Registration and Base Price
-
The minimum base price has been set at USD 10,000, with other tiers at USD 40,000 and USD 80,000.
-
Registrations were open from July to September, with the final list of available players to be circulated to franchises ahead of the auction.
-
Injured, unavailable, or un-cleared players (NOC issues) may be replaced until the end of the league phase.
Auction Mechanics
Players will be presented in sets, categorized by nationality (Full Member, Associate, UAE, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia) and specialization. ILT20 reserves the right to introduce marquee sets and to differentiate between capped and uncapped players.
Within each set, names will be drawn at random, with the auctioneer inviting bids until no further bids are received.
-
Following the conclusion of main sets, Accelerated Rounds may be introduced for unsold players if franchises still have vacancies.
-
Once all minimum spend and quota requirements are met, the auction will close.
UAE Player Right to Match
Each franchise will be allowed one Right to Match (RTM) for a UAE player who was part of their development squad or featured in ILT20 Season 3. This option can only be used once and is limited to UAE players.
