Pakistan clinched the Commonwealth Beach Handball Championship 2025 title with a resounding 2-0 victory over Sri Lanka in the final on Monday, completing the tournament with an unbeaten record.
The Green Shirts, who had already defeated Sri Lanka in the group stage, once again proved too strong for the Islanders in the summit clash. Pakistan dominated both halves, registering convincing wins by 26-18 and 28-18, to seal the crown in style.
The triumph marked Pakistan’s seventh consecutive victory in the competition, underlining their supremacy throughout the event. Muzammil Hussain emerged as the standout performer in the final and was deservedly named Player of the Match.
Pakistan’s road to the title was paved with commanding performances from the very start. They opened their campaign with a 2-0 win over arch-rivals India, followed by victories against Sri Lanka, Maldives, and South Africa, ensuring qualification to the semi-finals with a game to spare. Their group-stage dominance was highlighted by a crushing 24-15 and 28-5 win over South Africa.
In the semi-final, Pakistan swept aside Bangladesh 2-0 with scores of 22-17 and 27-5 to book their place in the final. Carrying that momentum, they overwhelmed Sri Lanka in the decider to lift the championship trophy.
The emphatic campaign not only earned Pakistan the Commonwealth title but also cemented their reputation as a force to be reckoned with in international beach handball.
