The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the ODI and T20I squads for the Pakistan Women’s team ahead of their upcoming tour of South Africa, which is scheduled to begin on 10 February 2026 in Potchefstroom. The tour forms a key part of Pakistan’s preparations for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, set to be held in June.
Fatima Sana will continue to lead the side in both formats as Pakistan looks to build continuity and momentum against quality opposition. The tour will feature three T20 Internationals followed by a three-match ODI series, offering the team valuable exposure in South African conditions.
A notable highlight of the squad announcement is the inclusion of uncapped batter Saira Jabeen and right-arm fast bowler Humna Bilal, both of whom have earned their maiden T20I call-ups. Their selection underlines the PCB’s intent to broaden the talent pool and provide opportunities to emerging players at the international level.
Several experienced campaigners have also returned to the ODI squad. Ayesha Zafar, Gull Feroza, Tasmia Rubab and wicketkeeper-batter Najiha Alvi have been recalled after missing out on selection for the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup. Their return is expected to add stability and depth to the 50-over setup.
A core group of players, including Aliya Riaz, Ayesha Zafar, Gull Feroza, Muneeba Ali, Nashra Sundhu, Natalia Parvaiz, Rameen Shamim, Sadia Iqbal, Sidra Amin and Tasmia Rubab, feature in both squads. Meanwhile, Diana Baig, Najiha Alvi, Sadaf Shamas and Syeda Aroob Shah have been named exclusively in the ODI squad, while Humna Bilal, Saira Jabeen, Tuba Hassan and Eyman Fatima will only be part of the T20I setup.
The team will undergo a pre-series training camp from 1 to 6 February at the Hanif Mohammad High Performance Centre in Karachi before departing for South Africa. During the tour, mentor Wahab Riaz will be supported by an experienced coaching staff comprising Imran Farhat (batting coach), Umaid Asif (fast bowling coach), Abdur Rehman (spin bowling coach) and Abdul Majeed (fielding coach).
The T20I leg of the tour will be played across Potchefstroom, Benoni and Kimberley from 10 to 16 February, with all matches scheduled as day-night fixtures. Pakistan will then play a 50-over warm-up match in Kimberley on 19 February, ahead of the ODI series, which will take place in Bloemfontein, Centurion and Durban from 22 February to 1 March. The second ODI will be a day-night fixture, while the remaining matches will be played during the day.
This tour marks Pakistan Women’s return to South Africa for a bilateral series since January 2021, when they last played a three-match ODI series in Durban. Pakistan also featured in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 in South Africa, with matches held in Cape Town and Paarl.
