The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has announced the successful sale of its International Media Rights for the upcoming season, marking another major milestone in the league’s accelerating global expansion.
Under a one-year agreement, the Global Media Rights for PSL 11 (excluding the India region) have been awarded to Walee Technologies, the highest successful bidder, who exceeded the Pakistan Cricket Board’s reserve price.
On a like-for-like and regionally comparable basis, the deal represents a 149% increase in value compared to the previous media rights cycle, underlining the PSL’s growing brand strength, international demand, and expanding global footprint. The significant uplift further cements the league’s standing among the world’s leading T20 competitions.
PSL Chief Executive Officer Salman Naseer welcomed the outcome, describing the sharp rise in valuation as a strong endorsement of the league’s quality and global appeal. He said the increase reflects the PSL’s competitive standard, its ability to attract international audiences, and its long-term commercial potential across diverse markets.
Naseer also acknowledged Walee Technologies for setting a new benchmark in the league’s “New Era,” stating that the record-breaking bid highlights growing confidence in the PSL as a globally recognised cricketing property. He credited franchises, players, commercial partners and stakeholders for collectively contributing to the league’s sustained upward trajectory.
Walee Technologies Chief Executive Officer Muhammad Ahsan Tahir termed the agreement a landmark moment for Pakistan’s technology sector, calling it a win for locally built platforms on a global stage. He said the partnership marks the beginning of Walee’s long-term journey with the PSL and hinted at ambitious plans to enhance the league’s international broadcast and digital presence.
Since its launch in 2016, the PSL has recorded consistent commercial growth across media rights, sponsorship portfolios and digital engagement, firmly establishing itself as Pakistan’s biggest sporting brand and a prominent fixture within the global T20 ecosystem.
The PCB and PSL management reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the league’s international broadcast product and further expanding its global reach, ensuring that cricket fans worldwide continue to engage with the PSL at an unprecedented scale.
