“PSL is Not Just a Tournament, It’s a Movement” — PSL Marks 10-Year Milestone with Record-Breaking Growth

The management of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), led by Chief Executive Officer Salman Naseer, held a comprehensive workshop with all key stakeholders of the league on Wednesday at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore. Representatives from franchises, the title sponsor HBL, media rights holders, and commercial partners were in attendance for the high-level meeting.

The gathering celebrated the unprecedented success of the recently concluded 10th edition of the PSL (HBL PSL X) and provided a detailed analytics-driven breakdown of the league’s exponential growth since its inception in 2016. A major focus was placed on comparing statistical insights from the ninth and tenth editions, highlighting massive surges in viewership, engagement, and on-field milestones.

The standout metric from PSL 10 was the 647% increase in live streaming views, with figures soaring from 455 million during PSL 9 to a staggering 3.4 billion in the tenth edition. This was complemented by 48.5 billion cumulative minutes watched on digital platforms within Pakistan territory.

Other key highlights:

  • 511 million live streaming views for playoffs and final matches alone.

  • 33% of the live digital audience comprised female viewers, signaling a growing gender-diverse fanbase.

  • 53% of total viewers came from urban areas, while a notable 47% represented rural regions, indicating a widespread national footprint.

Salman Naseer, CEO of PSL, said:

Historic On-field Achievements in HBL PSL X

On the cricketing front, PSL X proved to be a spectacle of high-octane performances and historic feats:

  • 520 sixes were hit – the highest in any PSL edition.

  • 435 wickets were taken – another all-time record.

  • 19 scores of 200+ runs, the most in a single season.

  • Highest-ever successful chase in a T20 final – Lahore Qalandars chased 202 against Quetta Gladiators.

  • Lahore Qalandars hit 124 sixes, the most by a team in a PSL season.

  • First-ever Emerging category player to be named Player of the Tournament.

  • Separate Urdu commentary feed launched for the first time across all games.

  • 520 foreign players registered for the draft; 59 featured in PSL X.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi praised the league’s legacy:
