The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) unveiled an ambitious global roadmap for the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) during a historic roadshow held at Lord’s Cricket Ground, as Chairman Mohsin Naqvi outlined sweeping reforms aimed at transforming the PSL into the world’s premier T20 competition.
Addressing international stakeholders, investors and media, Naqvi said the PSL is rapidly evolving into a global brand, with the board prioritising international broadcast expansion, fan engagement, and commercial innovation.
A major announcement was the approval of PSL’s conversion into a limited company, with plans to launch an Initial Public Offering (IPO). Naqvi described the development as a turning point that will open the door to substantial investment opportunities.
The PCB chief also revealed that a new tender for the PSL’s international media rights has been issued, while the board has launched its own OTT platform, “PCB Live,” to further strengthen the league’s global digital presence.
For PSL 11, prize money has been significantly increased. The winning team will now receive USD 500,000, while the runner-up will take home USD 300,000. Additionally, a USD 200,000 reward will be allocated to the franchise demonstrating the best cricket development — part of the PCB’s push to incentivise long-term talent growth.
Naqvi also announced that, beginning in December and continuing until the start of PSL 11, fan-focused concerts will be held at all PSL venues as part of a nationwide engagement initiative.
The panel at the London Roadshow included legendary former cricketers Wasim Akram and Ramiz Raja, along with PSL Chief Executive Officer Salman Naseer, who collectively emphasised the league’s unprecedented commercial potential and its rising global footprint.
