Sahibzada Farhan Completes 1,500 T20 Runs in 2025, Becomes Fourth Pakistani to Reach Milestone

Pakistani opener Sahibzada Farhan has entered the record books by completing 1,500 runs in T20 cricket this year, becoming only the fourth Pakistani batter to achieve the milestone in a calendar year.

The right-hander reached the landmark in his 35th innings of 2025, joining the elite company of Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shan Masood. Babar remains the most prolific in this regard, achieving the feat thrice (2019, 2021, 2024), while Rizwan managed it in 2021 and 2022, and Shan Masood in 2022.

Farhan’s prolific run tally in 2025 has come through his contributions for Pakistan, Peshawar Region, and Islamabad United, underscoring his consistency across formats and levels.

The 28-year-old batter recently grabbed headlines during the Asia Cup Super Fours clash against arch-rivals India, where he celebrated his half-century in a unique fashion. Having reached his fifty with a towering six off Axar Patel, Farhan mimicked his bat “firing runs like bullets,” a gesture that electrified the crowd and went viral on social media.

Speaking to the media afterwards, Farhan defended his celebration, saying:

“I usually don’t celebrate fifties, but this time a new idea came to my mind and I expressed it differently. It was just a new style of expression. I don’t care what meaning people derive from it.”

His aggressive knock against India, laced with five boundaries and three sixes, highlighted his confident approach against a world-class attack. Farhan emphasized that he always aims to play positive cricket — “even if the opponent is India.

With his current form and milestone achievement, Sahibzada Farhan has firmly established himself as one of Pakistan’s most impactful batters in T20 cricket this year.
