Seasoned broadcast journalist Sana Mirza has made another major career move, joining Aik News as the host of its flagship prime time current affairs program, Front Line. After spending the past two years at Public News, where she anchored news analysis shows and strengthened the channel’s current affairs portfolio, Sana is now set to bring her trademark style of sharp questioning and in-depth analysis to a new platform.
Sana Mirza began her journalism career in 2003 as a radio jockey on FM100 and joined Geo News in 2005, quickly becoming one of the channel’s leading anchors. Over nearly a decade at Geo, she built a strong on-screen reputation, known for her confidence and incisive interviewing skills. During this period, she also hosted programs on Voice of America (Urdu) and covered a wide range of social issues. In 2015 Mirza left Geo News and moved to Jaag TV to host a new current-affairs program, later anchoring shows at other networks such as 92 News and 24 News while also contributing to Geo’s digital content team.

After years of anchoring on various channels she took a long break from media and then in 2023 returned to television as a weekend current-affairs anchor at Public News. She spent two years hosting in-depth news analysis on Public News, helping to build the channel’s prime-time lineup.
Earlier this month Sana Mirza announced her departure from Public News in a social-media message, thanking viewers and colleagues before moving on to her next venture.

In her latest career move, Sana Mirza has joined Aik News as the anchor and braught her primetime talk show Front Line with her to the channel. Front Line is promoted by the network as a flagship current affairs program (to air on weeknights) that will delve into Pakistan’s top political, economic and social issues.
Sana Mirza’s arrival at Aik News is seen as a major boost for the young channel, which is building a lineup of experienced journalists.
Known for her strong interviewing style and on-screen confidence, Mirza is expected to bring incisive analysis and lively debate to Front Line. The show will feature Mirza moderating panels of experts and analysts to dissect the latest news of the day. Media observers note that Mirza’s deep understanding of national and international affairs will help produce thought-provoking discussions, reinforcing her reputation as one of Pakistan’s respected journalists.
