In a proud moment for Pakistani cinema, acclaimed director Sarmad Khoosat’s upcoming feature Lali is set for its world premiere at the 76th Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale) in 2026.
The film, described as a darkly comic tale of love, superstition, and fate, follows characters Zeba and Sajawal navigating a realm where the living coexist with restless spirits. The ensemble cast includes Mamya Shajaffar, Channan Hanif, Rasti Farooq, Farazeh Syed, and Mehr Bano.
The announcement came via the unveiling of the official poster on Instagram, confirming Lali’s debut at one of the world’s most prestigious film festivals, scheduled to run from February 12 to 22, 2026. This selection marks a major international platform for Pakistani storytelling and film artistry.
