Strikers successfully defended their title as they defeated Conquerors by four wickets in the final of the National Women’s U19 T20 Tournament 2025 at the National Bank Stadium, Karachi, on Wednesday afternoon.
Led by all-rounder Zoofishan Ayyaz, the Strikers completed a remarkable turnaround in this year’s edition — rising from the bottom of the points table in the group stage to back-to-back champions. With this victory, Zoofishan’s side not only lifted the winners’ trophy but also claimed the PKR 750,000 prize purse.
The match, which was also live-streamed on the PCB’s YouTube channel, saw Conquerors electing to bat first and posting 91 for four in 20 overs. Their captain Samiya Afsar once again anchored the innings with a composed 32 off 51 balls, including three fours and a six. Samiya capped off a stellar tournament as the top run-getter, scoring 271 runs in eight matches at a strike rate of 122.07.
For Strikers, off-spinner Narjis Bibi continued her impressive bowling form, finishing with 2 for 20, and ended the event as the leading wicket-taker with 11 wickets in seven matches — the most by any bowler this season.
In reply, Strikers chased down the target in 16.5 overs, reaching 92 for six to seal the championship. Their captain Zoofishan Ayyaz led from the front with a crucial 30-run knock, while Aqsa Habib contributed 24 to guide the team home.
Zoofishan’s all-round leadership earned her the Player of the Match award, while teammate Aqsa Habib was named Player of the Tournament for her consistent performances throughout.
Other individual accolades went to Samiya Afsar (Conquerors) as Best Batter, Narjis Bibi (Strikers) as Best Bowler, and Komal Khan (Stars) as Best Wicket-Keeper of the tournament.
