A promising new face in Pakistan’s broadcast journalism landscape, Hajra Rauf, has joined Geo News, marking a significant step forward in the young anchor’s rapidly growing media career.
Hajra recently graduated with a BS in Media and Communication Studies from National University of Modern Languages, Karachi, completing her degree in January 2026.
During her degree, she stepped into the professional world, she began building experience across several newsrooms in Karachi.
Her early exposure to broadcast journalism came through internships at BOL News, News One, and Channel 5, where she gained firsthand experience of newsroom operations and television production.
Hajra later made her on-screen debut as a news anchor at NTN News, marking her formal entry into broadcast presentation. She subsequently joined AbbTakk News, where she continued to develop her on-screen presence and reporting style.
Speaking to MediaSpringPK about her move, Hajra said the transition to Geo News is both exciting and humbling.
“Joining Geo News is a big moment for me. I have always believed that journalism is about responsibility as much as opportunity. I’m grateful for the experiences I had at NTN News and AbbTakk News, which helped shape my journey. I’m looking forward to learning, growing, and contributing meaningfully at Geo.”
She added that entering the industry so soon after graduating from National University of Modern Languages, Karachi, has been both challenging and rewarding.
“The media industry moves very fast, and every day is a learning experience. I hope to continue evolving as a journalist while engaging audiences on both television and digital platforms.”
Her move to Geo News represents a major career milestone and a notable breakthrough for the young journalist. The channel remains one of Pakistan’s most influential television news platforms, making the transition a significant achievement early in her professional journey.
Beyond television, Hajra Rauf maintains an active presence on digital media, where she regularly comments on a range of local and international issues, engaging with audiences beyond traditional broadcast platforms.
As she begins this new chapter at Geo News, Hajra Rauf is widely seen as one of the emerging young voices to watch in Pakistan’s evolving media industry.
