Madeha Naqvi Bids Emotional Farewell to Morning Show as She Parts Ways with Samaa

Pakistani television host and news anchor Madeha Naqvi has bid an emotional farewell to her morning show on Samaa TV, bringing an end to a chapter that has seen her become a familiar face in Pakistan’s breakfast television landscape.

In a farewell video shared with viewers, Madeha Naqvi returned to the show’s set to share her final moments with the programme and reflect on the memories, conversations and experiences accumulated over the years.

Explaining the reason behind her departure, Madeha Naqvi revealed that the morning show is being shifted to a studio in Lahore. Since relocating is not a feasible option for her, she has decided to part ways with the programme.

Her farewell carried an emotional note, with the presenter acknowledging the difficult nature of the decision. It was not, as her message suggested, a departure she had necessarily planned, but a decision shaped by circumstances and the show’s relocation.

For Madeha Naqvi, the goodbye also marks the closing of a significant chapter in a television career spanning several years and multiple major Pakistani news networks.

Madeha Naqvi began her broadcast career as a news anchor and went on to work with prominent television networks, including Dunya News, Geo Television Network, Aaj and Samaa. She also presented the morning programme on Geo Kahani before taking a break from regular television appearances.

In 2016, she returned to the screen as the host of Aaj Entertainment’s Ramazan transmission Baraan-e-Rehmat, alongside actor Aijaz Aslam. Speaking to MediaSpringPK at the time, she recalled how her return had come about unexpectedly after an extended break and expressed her interest in remaining on television.

She subsequently joined ARY News, where she co-hosted Bakhabar Savera with Shafaat Ali. After leaving the programme in February 2023, Naqvi returned to Samaa, initially hosting its Ramazan transmission before taking charge of Subh Ka Samaa.

Her return to Samaa in 2023 brought her back to a familiar television environment, and the breakfast programme once again placed her in front of viewers on a regular basis. In March 2024, she also returned as the host of Ramazan Ka Samaa.

Over the years, Madeha Naqvi has moved between news anchoring, morning television and special transmissions, building a career that has extended beyond a single programme or network.

Her latest farewell video offers a glimpse of the personal connection she developed with the morning show’s set, colleagues and viewers. For audiences who made her programme part of their daily routine, her departure will mean getting used to a different face at the start of their mornings.
