Pakistan Women Aim for Redemption in T20I Series Against West Indies

After facing defeat in the recent ODI series against the West Indies women’s cricket team, the Pakistan women’s cricket team is geared up to rejuvenate themselves in the upcoming five-match T20I series, commencing tomorrow at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi.

The West Indies women’s cricket team secured a clean sweep in the three-match ODI series, which was part of the ICC Women’s Championship 2022-25, held in Karachi from April 18 to 23.

The T20I matches are scheduled to kick off at 7:30 pm local time, with the toss set to take place at 7:00 pm. The subsequent T20Is will be played on April 28, April 30, May 2, and May 3, respectively.

Similar to the ODI series, the T20I series will be broadcast live on A Sports HD and Geo Super, with live streaming available on ARY ZAP, Tamasha, and Tapmad across the country. To encourage female fans and families, entry to the stadium is free, allowing them to enjoy the game from the Javed Miandad Enclosure.

Nida Dar, captain of the Pakistan women’s team, expressed disappointment over their performance in the ODI series and emphasized their goal to rectify mistakes and deliver a strong performance in the upcoming T20I series.

Hayley Matthews, captain of the West Indies women’s team, expressed satisfaction with her team’s performance in the ODI series and conveyed their eagerness to continue their winning streak in the T20I series. She acknowledged Pakistan’s competitiveness in the T20I format and aimed to maintain their form.

Claire Polosak from Australia will continue as an on-field umpire in the series, accompanied by Faisal Afridi, Farooq Ali Khan, and Tariq Rasheed. Afia Amin, Humairah Farah, and Saleema Imtiaz will serve as the fourth umpire, with Muhammad Javed Malik leading the match officials’ panel.

The Pakistan T20I squad includes players like Nida Dar, Aliya Riaz, Diana Baig, and Muneeba Ali, while the West Indies squad features Hayley Matthews, Stafanie Taylor, and Afy Fletcher.
