After a hiatus of more than a year, senior anchor and broadcast journalist Uzma Nauman has made her much-anticipated return to television. She has joined TV Today as a programme anchor, marking the comeback of one of Pakistan’s most respected media professionals to the TV screen.
At her new home, Uzma Nauman now hosts Think Pakistan, a current affairs programme that draws on her extensive experience in political and news analysis. Additionally, she serves as the co-anchor for Tamasha Meray Aagay, a programme she co-hosts alongside Hafeezullah Niazi. The dual role underscores her versatility as both a serious news anchor and a dynamic television host.
While talking to MediaSpring.PK, Uzma said:
“After taking some time away from the screen, I felt it was the right moment to return with fresh energy and new ideas. TV Today has given me the creative space to explore meaningful conversations,’ and I’m excited to be back doing what I love most – engaging with the audience on issues that truly matter. Having said that, I will keep creating meaningful content for my own digital space that I have created over the year while on a break from mainstream media.”
Uzma Nauman hails from Jhang and holds a degree in psychology. She has been associated with the media industry for over 13 years, building a reputation as one of the most recognisable faces in Pakistani broadcast journalism.

Her career spans some of the country’s most prominent news organisations. She has worked with Express News, Waqt News, and Dunya News. In 2018, Uzma joined GNN as part of the channel’s launching team and remained its face until August 2022, when she parted ways with the organisation.

Following her departure from GNN, Uzma became part of the launching team of Suno TV in 2022. At Suno TV, she not only spearheaded the news anchoring team but also hosted number of news analysis shows.

Throughout her career, Uzma Nauman has become known for a number of high-profile programmes. Her claim to fame includes shows such as Khabar Yeh Hai (Dunya News), Ikhtlafi Note (Dunya News), Live with Dr. Shahid Masood (GNN), and Taron Sey Karen Batain (GNN).

Beyond her work on Pakistani television, Uzma has also been part of the International Visitor Leadership Program of the United States, visiting the US during her time with Dunya News as part of this prestigious exchange initiative.
