Former Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq has reportedly issued a defamation notice to fellow cricketer Ahmed Shehzad after a series of allegations were made against him.
According to sources, Misbah—currently serving as the batting coach of Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League (PSL)—has strongly refuted the claims, describing them as false and harmful to his reputation. The legal notice reportedly demands a public retraction and clarification from Shehzad regarding his statements.
Sources indicate that Shehzad’s legal team is expected to respond within the next few days, as both parties appear to be heading toward a potential legal confrontation.
The dispute stems from allegations made by Shehzad, who accused Misbah of failing to ensure payment of dues to cricketer Haseebullah Khan. The matter has since escalated, with legal representatives from both sides now engaged in consultations.
This is not the first instance of tension between the two. Earlier this month, Shehzad publicly claimed that Misbah’s “ego” was a factor behind Haseebullah Khan’s exclusion from the national squad, including the recent tour of Bangladesh, which saw several new faces in the lineup.
The situation remains fluid, with further developments likely to depend on Shehzad’s response to the notice and the outcome of ongoing legal discussions.
