Islamabad Police Inducts RIDDARA Electric Pickup Fleet in Major Green Mobility Initiative

Islamabad Police has inducted a large fleet of RIDDARA all-electric pickup trucks into its operational fleet, marking one of the first large-scale deployments of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) by a law enforcement agency in Pakistan.

The vehicles have been supplied by Capital Smart Motors (CSM), with officials describing the move as a significant step toward sustainable mobility and a reflection of the government’s broader vision for the adoption of cleaner transportation technologies.

The handover ceremony was held at an Islamabad Police facility, where the electric pickups were formally integrated into the force’s fleet. The new vehicles are expected to support patrol and operational duties while reducing reliance on conventional fuel-powered transport.

The initiative is being viewed as a milestone in the public sector’s transition towards environmentally friendly transportation solutions. Islamabad Police’s decision to adopt electric pickups underscores a growing focus on reducing carbon emissions and improving energy efficiency within government institutions.

Capital Smart Motors said the deployment aligns with its strategy of promoting electric mobility beyond the private passenger vehicle segment and into institutional and public-sector fleets.

CSM Vice Chairman Jahanzaib Zahid has consistently advocated for sustainable and future-ready investments aimed at accelerating the country’s transition to energy-efficient transportation.

Under the leadership of CEO Imran Zahid, the company has expanded its electric vehicle portfolio by introducing multiple international EV brands to Pakistan. The RIDDARA rollout for Islamabad Police reflects the company’s emphasis on practical, fleet-oriented electric mobility solutions designed for government and institutional clients.

Capital Smart Motors Chief Operating Officer Abid S. Usmani has also played a central role in advancing the company’s fleet-focused EV strategy. According to the company, CSM is working to ensure its electric vehicle offerings meet the operational requirements of institutional users, including law enforcement agencies, while also developing local manufacturing capabilities.

Industry observers note that public-sector adoption of electric vehicles, particularly by police and security agencies, can help accelerate wider acceptance of EV technology across the country.

As Pakistan continues its transition toward battery electric vehicles, the induction of RIDDARA electric pickups into the Islamabad Police fleet is being seen as a tangible example of how government institutions and private-sector stakeholders can work together to advance national sustainability goals.
