The Prime Time Favorite Minahil Rafiq Returns to Neo News

In the fast-paced world of Pakistani broadcast journalism, finding your footing early and maintaining a streak of prime-time success is a rare feat. For Minahil Rafiq, however, the screen has always felt like home. In a development for media watchers, the dynamic news anchor has officially returned to Neo News for her second stint, bringing her signature screen presence and journalistic acumen back to the network where her mainstream journey first kicked off.

For Minahil, this return is less of a standard career move and more of a homecoming. Speaking about this new chapter, she shared her excitement about stepping back into the familiar newsroom:

“Returning to Neo News feels incredibly special because this is where my journey as a full-time professional broadcast journalist truly began. Every channel I’ve worked with since has shaped me, but Neo holds a foundational place in my career. I’m thrilled to be back with the team and looking forward to connecting with our prime-time audience once again with fresh energy.”

A proud Lahori, Minahil’s media trajectory was set during her university days at the prestigious Lahore College for Women University (LCWU). Graduating with a degree in Mass Communication, alongside fellow media professional Shafaq Shehzad Chaudhary, with whom she shared a batch, Minahil wasted no time dipping her toes into the industry.

Her first taste of the broadcast world came during a brief internship at City News Network, where she managed to go on-air within a week. However, the pressing demands of her university thesis forced her to step back temporarily. By December 2022, degree in hand, she joined 7 News, hosting their morning transmission.

“Back then, I wasn’t entirely serious about a long-term media career,” she recalls of her early months. She left 7 News after a short three-month stint, unaware that a massive breakthrough was just around the corner.

The turning point came when Minahil went to interview for Lahore Rung. The management immediately recognized her potential for a bigger platform and instead selected her for Neo News. It proved to be her first definitive, full-time career milestone.

From that point on, Minahil’s rise was meteoric. Blessed with a mix of hard work and what she humbly calls “good luck,” she managed to secure highly coveted prime-time slots at every single network she joined. Her growing reputation even led to 365 News calling her up to be a core part of its official launching team. Her career graph boasts impressive stints at 365 News and Samaa TV. Beyond standard bulletin readings, she has proved her mettle under immense pressure, successfully anchoring critical, high-stakes special transmissions during times of regional conflict and geopolitical breaking news.

At Samaa, Minahil was not just a news anchor; she was also a digital show host and podcaster. This versatile role allowed her to showcase her dynamic communication skills beyond traditional news formats, connecting with a broader online audience.

Minahil’s ambitions, however, aren’t strictly confined to the studio lights. Following her successful tenure at Samaa TV, she decided to explore her creative side by launching her own clothing brand, Manash.

Proving that modern media professionals can seamlessly navigate the corporate and creative worlds simultaneously, Minahil continues to successfully run Manash alongside her demanding broadcast schedule.

As Minahil Rafiq re-anchors her position at Neo News, viewers can expect the same sharp journalistic integrity and poised delivery that have become her trademark. In an industry that constantly evolves, her return to Neo News promises to solidify the channel’s prime-time lineup and offer audiences a familiar, trusted voice in Pakistani news.
